“Help! I’m living somebody else’s life!”

You’ve had a nagging feeling for a while, and now you’re sure of it.

You can’t go on living your life the way it is, because it isn’t who you really are. It’s a lie.

The shock of this recognition is numbing.

You try to hold it together as a wave of feelings washes over you:
• fear
• exhilaration
• sadness
• restlessness
• curiosity

The whole gamut.

Finally, you settle into a frightening sense of overwhelm, as you realize that you don’t know who you really are or where you want to go with your life. You just know that what you’ve got now isn’t working.

Welcome to the emotional roller coaster that is now your life, at least for a while!

Welcome to the Reinvention Revolution!

Reinventions are scary, confusing, and disorienting, especially at first. But they are also exciting, energizing and enlivening.

Above all, they are honest and real. And there is tremendous relief in just that.

When you commit to being a reinventer, you commit to living your life fully alive and fully engaged.

You commit to being true to yourself, and to guide yourself and your life by the truth of your inner compass.

You commit to going bravely into new, uncharted territory.

It helps to have fellow travelers, even though, by definition, no path is exactly the same, when it comes to reinventions. Part of the excitement and anxiety is that you don’t have a map. And the road-signs that you have always used to guide your way and your choices have changed.

But enough of the metaphors, at least for now.

I created this blog because when I became a reinventer, I didn’t have help. I desperately longed to know something of the journey of reinvention and to know that I wasn’t alone in my conviction to ‘not settle’ for a life that didn’t fit me.

I am writing this for reinventers everywhere, who need to know that they have a community of reinventers who understand them and support them in their journeys.

I plan to offer tools, resources, strategies, and most of all, hope and inspiration, for both reinventers and reinventer ‘wannabe’s’. You will never have to feel alone and isolated again as you reinvent your self and your life.

Stay tuned, and get ready for the ride of your life!

Oh, by the way, I am now a life coach, and so I will end each blog with an invitation to an action and an insight, to help you move forward in your reinvention.

START HERE:

Action: Find a next step that makes you gulp a bit, but is not paralyzing. (This may seem annoyingly obvious, but often the reason why we get stuck is that we expect too much of ourselves and then spend all of our energy beating up on ourselves for not coming through. You will find that I am a big fan of ‘chunking it down’ into small steps, because taking action is empowering and motivating. Consistent action: very effective, very stimulating!)
Insight: What’s the lie that you are living, and what’s stopping you from reinventing your life?
